Devapalli (Nrishinga Palli)

The Nrishinga Palli Temple is a revered sanctuary imbued with the sacred presence of Lord Narsingha Dev, boasting a storied history marked by unwavering devotion and surrender that resonates deeply with devotees globally.

At Nrishimha Palli, situated on the banks of the Mandakini River, Lord Narashingha Dev purified His hands, tainted with Hiranyakashipu's blood, during the Satya Yuga. He also refreshed Himself with the river's waters. Although the Mandakini River has diminished to a small lake, it remains adjacent to this ancient temple. Upon learning of Lord Narashingha Dev's presence, the demigods, led by Brahma, established residences and devoted themselves to His service, earning this site the designation Devapalli, or 'neighbourhood of the Devas'. Viswakarma constructed thousands of stone dwellings for the demigods, which were subsequently destroyed when the river altered its course. King Kshitish Candra Maharaja reconstructed and restored the temple to its current state in 1896 AD.
